ONE TOUCH FIGHT TEAM TRIPLE VICTORY!

Jerry Arreola made his MMA debut on April 10th 2021 at Colosseum Combat 53 against an undefeated opponent that was looking to secure another win under his belt. Jason Carter was a 2-0 amateur fighter with Circle City MMA and a 10th Planet BJJ purple belt. Arreola began his MMA career with a dominate performance, out classing his much larger opponent with superior grappling in all 3 rounds of the fight.  Arreola used quick strikes to bait his opponent to pressure forward with his attack which Arreola used to change levels and quickly bring the fight to the mat. From there Arreola put on a grappling clinic allowing his opponent no room to move or mount any offence. Each round was exactly the same , Arreola engaging with strikes and then using his opponents forward pressure to change levels and bring the fight to the ground. Carter had no answer for Arreola’s strength, speed and positioning all the while absorbing heavy ground and pound. At the end of the fight the judges awarded Arreola the unanimous decision win with the scores being 30-27,30-26 and almost unheard of 30-24.

Matt Cantwell continued his winning ways with a strong performance over a very came opponent in Joey Reis fighting out of Bloomington Team One BJJ. Round was one was a competitive exhibition of kickboxing and grappling with both men trading kicks and grappling exchanges with Cantwell gaining dominant position and landing some ground and pound. Round 2 started out with more kickboxing from both fighters with Cantwell getting the better of the exchanges. Cantwell pressed the action to the fence and landed a flush head kick on the breakaway. Both men exchanged combinations but both men kept their guards high and were able to block most shots. Round 3 started out with Reis immediately shooting for a takedown and bringing the fight to the mat. Cantwell was immediately active off his back and caught Reis in a triangle which after some exertion was able to escape. The grappling continued with Cantwell continuing to threaten submissions which caused a scramble that allowed Cantwell to his feet but Reis delivered another impressive takedown but fell right back into Cantwell’s ground attacks which ended putting Reis into another triangle which would be the final exchange with Reis submitting.

Brandon Peshek  improved his record to 2-0 with a unanimous decision victory over a very tough Quinn Murphy representing Hard Drive Performance Center. The fight started off with both men exchanging strikes with Peshek getting his nose bloodied early. Both men exchanged good knees and locked up in the clinch where Peshek found solid uppercuts. Grappling exchanges continued with Peshek ending up on Murphy’s back and scoring with some good punches from the back. Second round was more of the same early but Murphy’s condition stated to fail and he began eating big left hooks on the outside and upper hooks from Peshek in the clinch. Murphy managed to score a takedown in the last 30 seconds but just laid in guard and didn’t score any significant strikes. 3rd round was all Peshek who immediately took Murphy to the ground with a big takedown and landed big ground and pound from mount. Murphy managed to scramble to his feet but Peshek put him right back down and from there Murphy was dominated for the rest of the fight. Judges awarded Peshek scores of 29-28, 30-27, 30-27 both men were awarded fight of the night honors.
